“Martial art is a rich legacy of Chinese culture. It is not a private inheritance of a family. Only when we rid ourselves of personal attachments to styles and families; only when we learn what is substantial; will we be able to carry on the legacy of Chinese martial art”. Grandmaster Hu Yaozhen

"A disciple is committed to learning how to live effectively and consciously experience their true nature, their spiritual essence." Roy Eugene Davis
What is True Meaning? What is our True Nature? How do we find this illusive subject? It is typically said the Truth is within, that we already are what we are searching for. So why do so many of us feel as if that is only a possibility rather than absolute reality?
I submit that the way to know Truth, or Ultimate Reality, is through effective living as noted by Mr. Davis in the above quote. Effective living is not a path in itself. There is no map for that. It is not found in adhering to an established discipline. It is found in discipline itself. It is beyond lineage, beyond form, beyond intention, even beyond any discipline that is so named and established as discipline. You know what entails effective living, the only thing missing is for effective living to be your only action anytime you act. Of course it is alright, good and advisable even, to seek out from teachers and leaders. But the way, your way, is not their way. They can point the way, but even then, as my Taiji teacher, Dr. Yang, says, the finger may be pointing beyond the moon. What is beyond the moon? How will you find out? Note, you will never really know based on what another tells you. The absolute only way to really know is to walk your own path and find out for yourself.
